Dan Getz received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Salisbury in 2010. Upon graduation, he studied briefly with Tim McFadden in Baltimore, MD. He continued to refine his glass blowing techniques as he apprenticed with various local studio artists.
“The rhythm and flow of the material is what first attracted me to glass”’ says Getz. “I found through working with many different materials, glass always pushed me to my limits and beyond. I create glass artwork using many different techniques, from hot sculpting to Venetian goblet making.”
Dan has taught a variety of glass classes at the ArtsQuest Banana Factory in Bethlehem. He has been a teacher’s assistant for Boyd Sugiki, taken intense courses with Karen Willenbrink and Eoin Breadon.
In his role as Lead Gaffer at Banana Factory, Dan provides creative designs for ArtsQuest Glass production as well as developing innovative ideas for class curricula and other hot glass experiences.
