In my artwork, I use drawing to explore my relationship with the unusual. Often exploiting vintage icons and the idea of traditional landscape artwork, I create supernatural dreamscape drawings that later become the basis for my prints. Through drawing, I strengthen my bond with a recurring thought, daydream, or memory. While doing so, I create a visual interpretation of the complete sensation that I encounter with a subject. I believe that each image reflects a moment in my own ongoing visual universe. I choose print as my medium because through a number of processes, an image continues to change and develop, becoming its own unique instant. Printing the image from a plate allows me to use layering, multiples, and repetition in ways that reflect the nature of my recurring visions and ideas. In my ongoing body of work, my intention is to capture a moment beyond reality.
