My encaustic paintings primarily explore animals in metaphorical predator-prey relationships.  These images attempt to question dominion in the physical and spiritual sense and express ideas of stewardship, companionship, and loss.

I choose to work with wax because I believe it is a primitively seductive material. The medium is a simple blend of pigment, resin & beeswax, through fusing the finished surface with heat completes the alchemy.
