Because of Independence Day, the beginning of July always starts off with a bang, quite literally. So what is there to do after the big red, white, and blue barbecue? Don’t fret, because the rest of July is jam-packed with fun activities happening in the area. Here are some of our top picks for what’s going on in Bethlehem and other parts of the Lehigh Valley this month:
Happening at the Gallery
If you’re downtown for any of these incredible events, make sure to stop by the Bethlehem House Gallery, to enjoy our 2019 Summer Show Gallery in our home setting.
The Bethlehem House Gallery will be celebrating our Five-Year Anniversary on July 25th, and you better believe that we plan to celebrate BIG. Do you have any ideas for what we should put on the cake? Submit your design here, and we might just make it! And don’t forget to Save the Date for our Anniversary Party!
Other Events in the Bethlehem Area
Art Wars Allentown
The area’s most dynamic art series is back as regional artists come together to compete against each other. Art Wars, put together by iDreamMachine, consists of live events where artists go head-to-head to create the best piece possible. The opening Throw Downs are open to any amateur, aspiring or professional artists ages sixteen and up. From here, the pool will be whittled down to sixteen contestants, voted on by the crowd. Artists will need to think quickly and creatively as the rules change for each event, eventually leading to one overall winner. This year’s throw downs will be held at Blick Art Materials on July 14th at 1 PM and July 20th at 5 PM.
You can find more information on the competition and how to register here.
Tunes at Twilight
There are only two weeks left with Tunes at Twilight! This FREE concert series takes place on Thursdays from 6:00 PM – 8 PM at the Sun Inn Courtyard. Concerts resume on July 11th and wrap up on July 18th.
The 9th Annual VegFest is taking place on Saturday, July 13th from 11 AM to 6 PM. The food and street festival continues to honor the growing vegan culture in the Bethlehem area through demonstrations, live speakers, a large variety of food/craft vendors, and much more. Last year’s VegFest brought in a crowd of over 6,000, and looks to bring in more this year!
Looking to help out in the community? VegFest is still looking for volunteers. You can find more info here.
